Latitude Trade Company is an agriculture development and sourcing company active in the cocoa value chain in Uganda.

With integrity and passion, we build transparent fair supply-chains to bridge the divide between rural farmers in East Africa and consumers throughout the world. Our investment in origin development and collaborative relationships reflects our totally completely crazy obsession with quality. This, combined with a deep passion for sustainable development, is what drives us to supply craft food producers with some of the most unique and consistent flavors on the continent.

Our Approach


We believe quality is king. That's why our team supplies only the highest grade centrally fermented and farm-processed organic cacao from our network of 1,500 smallholder suppliers. With transparent pricing, high quality standards, and much needed cash on the spot, we pay premium prices directly into the pockets of our hard-working partners.


We believe in open and honest commercial relationships. That's why we invest in direct trade partnerships to bring socially conscious chocolate makers to our local suppliers. Furthermore, our team works to assist local well-established producer groups in the development of export marketing relationships - providing support, confidence and logistics along the way.

Value Addition

We believe in the development of the chocolate industry from the source. That's why, against all advice, we produce finished premium chocolate at origin. Our bean to bar chocolate allows us to reinforce the stability of our farm-gate prices while creating jobs and contributing to the local economy.

Our bean to bar chocolate aims to generate more value-addition and economic development in the community where we work and live. The goal is quite simple: to put Uganda on the map as a premier cacao origin and chocolate hub in East Africa.
